Exoplanet HD 219134b. Computer illustration showing the possible appearance of the rocky planet HD 219134b, the nearest confirmed rocky planet found to date (as of 2015) outside the Solar System. HD 219134b is 1.6 times the size of Earth and orbits its star in just three days. Scientists predict that this scorching-hot planet would have a rocky, partially molten surface with geological activity, possibly including volcanoes.
