Medical astrology. 15th-century illustrated manuscript on medical allegories, part of a set of documents referred to as spiritual encyclopaedias of the Middle Ages. This manuscript page shows four human figures (astrologers) consulting manuscripts, arranged around eight other human figures in an astrological setting. The Sun and Moon and the five known planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn) are shown in the circles of the central illustration. The Gothic script (in Latin and German) is on vellum in black and red ink. This manuscript is part of a collection of pages that were published in southern Germany in around 1410.
