Caption

Human eye. Close-up slit lamp footage of a healthy human eye, showing the transparent cornea and the brown patterned iris surrounding part of the dark pupil. Eye movements and the blink reflex occur. The cornea protrudes slightly and provides most of the focusing power of the eye. Behind the cornea is the iris which gives the eye its colour. It is a muscular structure, and contracts and relaxes to regulate the size of the pupil. Blinking draws moisture across the eye and removes irritants.
