Hazard warning label on a bottle of bleach. Domestic bleach is normally a 3%-8% solution of sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) in water, sometimes with added gelling agents to make the solution denser and more viscous. As an oxidising agent, bleach can be a strong irritant. However, if used with acid cleaning solutions chlorine gas can be released.
