Surgery preparations. Surgeon scrubbing his hands and forearms before a surgical procedure. It is important that a high standard of hygiene is observed to prevent the infection of open wounds during an operation. Before each operation the staff will wash or scrub their hands and forearms thoroughly with an anti-bacterial soap. The operation is to fix a fractured femur, and a lead apron is being worn due to the use of an X-ray machine. Photographed in the UK.
