Orion launch. Delta IV Heavy rocket lifts off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, USA, carrying NASA's Orion spacecraft on an unpiloted flight test to Earth orbit. The flight took place on December 5, 2014, and lasted 4 hours and 24 minutes. The Orion spacecraft is intended to carry a crew of four astronauts and facilitate exploration of asteroids and of Mars, as well as delivering crew or supplies to the International Space Station.
