Spike with orange reddish bracts of Bromelia guzmania, a popular genus of bromeliad. It grows in trees out of a branch or trunk and collects water in its heart. These colorful flower bracts are much in demand as decorative plants. Their natural habitat is subtropical and ranges from Florida to Brazil, most common in Costa Rica and Columbia.
