Micrograph of a serpentinite rock with chlorite rich bands (blue) that has been subjected to intense deformation forces, resulting in complex folding and NE-SW shear structures. Weak and younger cleavage is seen in the lower part of the micrograph. The dimensions of the thin section here shown in polarized transient light is 30 x 40 mm.
