Long Island tidal channel. Aerial view over a tidal channel on Long Island, Bahamas, at low tide. In the shallow waters surrounding the Bahamas, the tidal amplitude is approximately one metre. During low tide the water collects in the deeper tidal creeks. From above, these channels look like blue veins on the bright seafloor of lime sludge.
