Yessotoxin molecular model. Yessotoxins are a group of poisonous substances produced by the algae blooms that cause the phenomenon known as red tide along the Pacific Coast of the United States. Red tides, or harmful algal blooms as they are more commonly referred to by scientists, occur in all oceans of the world.
