Zinc reacts with hydrochloric acid. Zinc coil is placed in a test tube with 1M solution of hydrochloric acid at room temperature. Zinc reacts with the acid producing hydrogen bubbles: Zn + HCl -> ZnCl2 + H2. This is an example of a single displacement reaction.
