Colour enhanced scanning electron microscope (SEM) of The vegetable kohlrabi . Kohlrabi is the result of the breeding of brassica oleracea for lateral meristem growth. Other B. oleracea vegetables are cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, collard greens, and Brussels sprouts. Kohlrabi leaves are edible and can be used interchangeably with collard and kale. B. oleracea has become established as an important human food crop plant. The pollen was obtained in the second year of growing Kohlrabi Gigante. Image width: 64 micrometers.
