Mosquito larva. Light microscope footage of the internal structures of the thorax of a mosquito larva (family Culicidae). Mosquito larvae are aquatic and breathe through spiracles located on their abdomen, or through a siphon (breathing tube) on the end of their body. The air is conducted to the tissues via a system of tracheal tubes.
