This snowflake changed it's growth characteristics through it's time in the clouds, resulting in fernlike branches growing out of wider tips. This image is a composite of 39 separate frames at different focus points to achieve focus across the crystal. Photographed on a black woollen background with visible fibres removed in editing. Physical diameter of crystal is estimated at 3.5mm. Roughly 2.9x magnification when printed 10 wide.
