This snowflake showcases an unusual branching pattern, as well as highlights of colour caused by thin film interference. Photographed with reflected light, the interference colours are generated in areas of the ice that contain bubbles of trapped air. Crystal measures 3.3mm in diameter at the widest, and the resulting image would be 28x magnification when printed at 10cm wide.
