Butterfly Nebula (NGC 6302), also called the Bug Nebula. This is a bipolar planetary nebula, a glowing shell of gas cast off by a star near the end of its life. This planetary nebula, around 1.5 light years across and around 3400 light years from Earth, is located in the constellation of Scorpius.
