Helix Nebula (NGC 7293). This astronomical object is a planetary nebula, a glowing shell of gas cast off by a star near the end of its life. This planetary nebula, just under 3 light years across, is around 700 light years from Earth in the constellation of Aquarius. This image was obtained on 26 June 2014.
