Water boiling under low pressure. Footage of water boiling under low pressure in a gas jar as the air is evacuated using a pump. The pressure gauge shows the pressure dropping as the air is pumped out. At room temperature and 1 atmosphere of pressure, water boils at around 100 degrees Celsius. This boiling point drops as the pressure decreases. At a room temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, water will boil at a pressure of 0.02 of an atmosphere.
