Water boiling under low pressure. Close-up footage of water boiling under low pressure in a gas jar as the air is evacuated using a pump. At room temperature and 1 atmosphere of pressure, water boils at around 100 degrees Celsius. This boiling point drops as the pressure decreases. At a room temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, water will boil at a pressure of 0.02 of an atmosphere. For a wider view of this experiment, see clip K005/4104.
