The central structure comprises of the carpels and ovaries (female reproductive elements), this in turn is surrounded by a zone comprising of the stamens and anthers (male reproductive elements). These are encircled by whorls of petals and the entire structure is enclosed by an outer calyx. Magnification: x8 at 10cm wide.
