Brown china mark (Elophila nymphaeata) moth larva. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the caterpillar of a brown china mark moth, showing its mouthparts (upper right). This moth is found throughout much of Europe and has a wingspan of around 16-20mm. Its larvae are unusual amongst moths as they are aquatic. Magnification: x30, when printed 10 cm wide.
