Gutenberg bible. The Gutenberg Bible is a 42-line bible produced by Johannes Gutenberg (c.1398-1468) in around 1455, using oil-based ink and wooden printing presses, also invented by Gutenberg. Only around 180 copies were produced, but it was the first major book printed using mass-produced movable type and started the age of the printed book in the West.
