Ball and stick model of a cyclohexane molecule in its chair conformation. Black balls are carbon atoms and white balls are hydrogen atoms. Cyclohexane (C6H12) is a cycloalkane which is mainly used for the industrial production of adipic acid and caprolactam, which are precursors to nylon.
