Light micrograph of a plant cell division in a stamen hair of Tradescantia virginiana. The cell at the tip of the stamen divides into two new daughter cells, showing Anaphase stadium. This process is known as mitosis, the asexual replication of a cell into two new cells with identical sets of chromosomes. Microscopic contrast method: Differential interference contrast.
