Molecular model of a sheet of stanene with added fluorine (green). Stanene has a similar honeycomb structure to graphene but is composed of tin atoms. With the addition of fluorine atoms, it is thought that it can achieve 100% efficiency as an electrical conductor. The first fabrication of stanene was achieved in August, 2015, by researchers in America and China.
