Pearl-Qatar island, satellite image. The Pearl-Qatar in Doha, Qatar, is an artificial island with an area of nearly 4 million square metres. The project began in 2004. The island has been developed as a residential estate and is expected to have 45,000 inhabitants by 2018. Image obtained in 2013 by a Pleiades satellite.
