Caption

Northern crested caracara (Caracara cheriway) feeding on the carcass of a sea lion on a beach. These large birds of prey tend to be ground scavengers rather than aerial hunters. They are found in most of northern South America through Central America to Mexico. Photographed in Baja California, Mexico.
