Doppler echocardiography. Footage of the heart being examined from different angles using ordinary ultrasound (echocardiography) as well as using Doppler ultrasound (coloured footage). The scanner uses ultrasound and the Dopppler effect to allow examination of a patient's heart and blood flow. Ultrasound scans use high-frequency sound waves emitted by the scanner and reflected from within the body to build up a picture of internal structures. The heartbeat is also shown as an electrical trace (green) across bottom.
