Caption

Proliferating cell nuclear antigen molecule. Computer model of the secondary structure of the trimer of a proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) molecule. Beta sheets are pink and alpha helices are blue. This protein is a cofactor for DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) polymerase delta, an enzyme that synthesises the new strand during DNA replication and repair. PCNA helps to hold DNA polymerase delta to the DNA strand.
