The Big and Little Dippers, part of the constellations Ursa Major (Big Bear) and Ursa Minor (Little Bear). The end stars in the bowl of the Big Dipper, also called the plough, are called the pointers because they point the way to Polaris, the North Star, at the end of the handle of the Little Dipper.
