Sunspot 1476, May 9, 2012. Sunspots are temporary phenomena on the photosphere of the sun that appear visibly as dark spots compared to surrounding regions. They are caused by intense magnetic activity. Photographed using a DMK 21AF04 firewire camera, 2x barlow and Lunt 60mm/50F H-alpha Solar Scope, 679 frames.
