Earthquake damage. A damaged building surrounded by rubble after the Nepal earthquake of 25th April 2015. This earthquake, also known as the Gorkha earthquake, killed over 8,000 people and injured more than 21,000. Its epicentre was in Gorkha, near Kathmandu, with a 7.8 moment magnitude. Hundreds of thousands of people were made homeless, and it also triggered an avalanche on Mount Everest, killing 21 on the mountain.
