Human Myeloma Immunoglobulin D. Molecular model of the human myeloma immunoglobulin D. Human immunoglobulin D (IgD) occurs most abundantly as a membrane-bound antibody on the surface of mature B cells (mIgD). Multiple myeloma is a form of blood cancer that develops in the bone marrow. In multiple myeloma, normal plasma cells transform into malignant myeloma cells and produce large quantities of an abnormal immunoglobulin called monoclonal protein or M protein.
