Swollen genitals due to haematoma. Swollen scrotum and penis, blackened by ecchymosis (internal bleeding) secondary to a retroperitoneal haematoma. This is an accumulation of blood in the retroperitoneal space, the space behind the peritoneum, the lining of the abdominal cavity. Bleeding into this space can be a sign of several serious and sometimes fatal conditions, including acute pancreatitis.
