Upper torso bones, artwork. These bones include the upper arm bones (one humerus on each side), the spinal bones (vertebrae) forming the central backbone, and the chest bones. The chest bones include the ribs that form the rib-cage, and the sternum (breastbone) where the ribs attach at the front. At the rear, the ribs attach to the spine. The shoulder joints are formed by the humerus bones articulating with the scapula (shoulder blades, on the upper back). The shoulder joints are stabilised by the clavicles (collar bones, across top).
