Twelve catarrhines. Historical artwork of twelve apes and Old World monkeys, from the 1870 edition of Ernst Haeckel's The Natural History of Creation. These drawings are not entirely accurate. Catarrhines are an infraorder which includes humans, apes and Old World monkeys. The species in this infraorder are the closest to us genetically.
