Tolima golden ornament. This pectoral (a brooch-like ornament) may have been used as a breastplate. It shows a symmetrical human figure in ritual position, the limbs echoing themselves. The Tolima (Panche) people inhabited areas near the Magdalena River from around 300 AD, declining after the Spanish Conquest. Photographed at the Gold Museum (Museo del Oro), Bogota, Colombia.
