SEM (Scanning Electron Micrograph) of the surface of a hop leaf (Humulus lupulus) with unidentified bacteria. The hops vine grows throughout Europe and the Americas. Hops is extensively cultivated for the production of beer. Preparations of its flowers are used in herbal medicine to aid digestion and to relieve fever. This image was collected at 58,000x and represents a field of view of 1.2 m in the horizontal direction.
