Grey wolf (Canis lupus). This apex predator is native to the wilderness and remote areas of North America, Eurasia, and North Africa. It is the largest member of the canid family (Canidae), reaching a shoulder height of around 80 centimetres. It is a territorial and social animal, hunting its prey in packs.Photographed in January, in Canada.
