Herpes infection in epidermolytic hyperkeratosis. Close-up of a generalised herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection on the face and neck of a 60-year-old female patient with epidermolytic hyperkeratosis. Epidermolytic hyperkeratosis is a rare skin condition that involves the clumping of keratin filaments. It typically begins with blistering at a young age but as the patient gets older the blisters reduce in frequency and the skin becomes thickened (hyperkeratotic).
