Pyoderma gangrenosum. Close-up of an ulcer on the arm of a 32-year-old male patient affected by pyoderma gangrenosum. Pyoderma gangrenosum is a condition that causes necrosis (tissue cell death) of tissue, resulting in deep ulcers that usually occur on the legs. Though the aetiology is not well understood, the disease is thought to be due to immune system dysfunction.
