Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Gemella morbillorum, Gram-positive, coccus prokaryote (dividing) that is part of the oral cavity microflora. It prefers capnophilic or microaerophilic environments. It is important in the fermentation of lactate and acetate. It can infrequently cause endovascular infections and endocarditis.
