Apollo programme briefing at Cape Canaveral. Footage of German-US aerospace engineer Wernher von Braun (left) in 1963 at a briefing on the Apollo manned lunar landing programme. The briefing is taking place in an underground launch control centre at the NASA facilities at Merrit Island, near Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA. Von Braun was lead designer of the Apollo Saturn V rocket. This footage is from the Presidential tour by John F. Kennedy that took place here on 16 November 1963. This was Kennedy's third visit to Cape Canaveral, taking place a week before his assassination. The site was renamed the Kennedy Space Center in his honour on 29 November 1963.
