President Kennedy at Apollo programme briefing. Footage of General Leighton Davis with a presidential aide at a 1963 briefing on the Apollo manned lunar landing programme, attended by US President John F. Kennedy (1917-1963). Kennedy is seen halfway through the clip. The briefing is taking place in an underground launch control centre at the NASA facilities at Merrit Island, near Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA. The briefing was given by NASA manager George Mueller. Those present in the front row are: George Low, Kurt Debus, Robert Seamans, James Webb, President Kennedy, Hugh Dryden, Wernher von Braun, General Leighton Davis, and a presidential aide. This footage is from the Presidential tour by Kennedy that took place here on 16 November 1963. This was Kennedy's third visit to Cape Canaveral, taking place a week before his assassination. The site was renamed the Kennedy Space Center in his honour on 29 November 1963.
