Andrew David Hamilton (born 1952), British chemist, professor and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford (admitted October 2009), in his office at the University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford, UK. During his career, he has worked in the USA at the universities of Princeton, Pittsburgh and Yale. The research he has led has included areas of supramolecular, medicinal, and bio-organic chemistry. Hamilton was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 2004. He was Vice-Chancellor of the university from 2009 to 2015. Hamilton was appointed President of New York University in 2016.
