Tulip (Tulipa sp.) flower. Close-up of the centre of a tulip flower showing the reproductive parts. Stamens (black) can be seen surrounding the stigma (pale yellow, upper right), which is on the end of a thick style. Each stamen consists of an anther (sausage-shaped) on the end of a filament. The anthers are covered in pollen grains (brown), some of which can be seen dotted on the surface of the stigma.
