Tim Peake after the Soyuz TMA-19M landing in a steppe region of Kazakhstan on 18 June 2016. British (ESA) astronaut Tim Peake (born 1972) was one of three astronauts in the spacecraft. They had spent 186 days on the International Space Station (ISS). Peake (as part of the Principia mission) was the eighth European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut to complete a long-duration mission in space. He was flown directly to ESA's astronaut base in Cologne, Germany, for medical checks and for researchers to collect additional data on how his body and mind adapted to living in space. Photographed on 18 June 2016.
