Also known as an organ gun, this version of a gun with multiple barrels is from the fourteenth century and is equipped with four small cannons and five pikes. Volley artillery pieces were mainly used in the early 15th century though they were of limited value in battle conditions. Chiefly employed as anti-personal weapons, they developed into the more effective artillery cannon or bombard.
