Hutchinsons lentigo skin cancer. Close-up of abnormal pigmentation (lentigo) on the chest of a 70-year-old female patient caused by excessive exposure to sunlight. Lentigo is a pigmented spot on the skin caused by an increase in the melanin (pigment)-producing skin cells known as melanocytes. It is usually benign (non-cancerous) but can develop into a slow-growing form of skin cancer.
