Male swallow tanager (Tersina viridis) perched in a tree. This bird is found widely throughout South America, from eastern Panama to far northern Argentina. The female swallow tanager is yellow-green, whilst the male is a blue-green colour with a white underside and black face and upper throat patch (as here). Photographed near the Iguazu Falls.
